Q: Why are we organizing a beauty expo in Medford?
A: The Rogue Valley is a vibrant area with amazing natural beauty and wonderful people. Medford does not have a single event for beauty professionals to gather and it’s time to make it happen. Instead of driving to Portland or Sacramento, we want to invest locally and get more people together to lift each other up.
Q: Why now?
A: The beauty industry is highly fractured with a small percentage of professionals that purposefully network and share knowledge. If more people give back to this amazing, creative industry we get better as a collective. No drama. No pretense. Just valuable sharing, learning, and networking.
Q: Why are we charging?
A: The short version is to cover the cost of putting together the expo. Costs include creating and maintaining the website, marketing, marketing materials, advertising, and food vendors. The MBE team is comprised of two administrators with full time jobs that are volunteering 100’s of hours at no charge. We are not asking attendees nor vendors to share in the shortfall if the event does not cover its costs. We are committed to giving away a scholarship to a local beauty professional if the event takes in more than the inherent costs. There is zero profit motivation.
Q: Why should you attend?
Professional networking, sharing knowledge, and learning from each other. Create the habit of learning to teach which will ensure you understand things. The expo will happen once a year and we are motivated to keep it going and investing in our community of beauty professionals.
